Richard Dobos, Master Goldsmith
Richard Dobos, Master Goldsmith, has been creating beautiful custom jewellery for almost 30 years. After graduation in his native Hungary, Richard spent his first 10 years creating chains, rings, pendants, earring, brooches, cufflinks and more, all by hand and to exacting size and weight.
In Vienna, Austria, Richard learned antique jewellery reproduction and repairing vintage jewellery. Here he also learned the art of diamond setting. In Italy, he then perfected his knowledge of high-end jewellery in modern styles.
Returning to Hungary and completing his Master Goldsmith exams, Richard opened his own shop, serving customers for 14 years. In 2007, he had the opportunity to continue his craft in Canada.
In Canada, Richard joined the artists at famous fine jewellers including Montecristo, Stittgen, and Dian Creations, creating innovative hand-made designs in high-quality 19K white gold, platinum, pearls and other gems.
Richard recently won top honors in the Canadian Excellence in Design Awards, chosen by a panel of esteemed industry professionals, in both the diamond ring and pearl categories, and presented by Canadian Jeweller magazine.
In 2014, he took over operations of his friend's store at GeoGem, and opened Kingstone Jewellers in Langley, British Columbia. Richard shares with customers his experience and friendly professionalism. He will listen to your ideas and work with you to create a one-of-a-kind design to last a lifetime.
